Indeed.

There is a well-defined place to put tests; the "src/ducttape" directory
contains a set of shell scripts that test out a number of conditions.

In the recent past, I have added in test_7_defines, which tests out the
new "include" and "define" slonik features, and test_8_logship, which
does some tests on the new log shipping functionality.

Unfortunately, there are conditions which are difficult to set up tests
for. Any assistance in adding scripts to test particular failure cases
would be very much appreciated.

I have been reviewing the bugs and feature requests on the GBorg site to
see what needs to be addressed; there are only two assigned items there
at present, namely an OSF/1 "configure" change I'm hoping Darcy will
take a peek at, and a minor change to watchdogs that isn't particularly
vital.

I see two things at this point holding up a 1.1 release candidate:

 1. Lack of wider testing of log shipping (I have done a bit of work on
this, but can't quite call it comprehensive; it needs more eyes than mine)

 2. There's a cleanup thread function I added to look for the "most
elderly XID" which I don't yet trust if there are XIDs > 2^31; that
needs some extra eyes.

 3. Unavailability at this point of a Windows(tm) port isn't holding
things up...

If some people can check out CVS (which ought to work; I'm recompiling
it on a regular basis with good success) and try out log shipping, so
that there's more reports than merely mine, then that's the point at
which release candidates will start heading out.
