Let me make this more explicit, given the recent threads on the -general list: my reaction is _not_ a hatred of Windows, but a very strong desire not to make every non-Windows user hang around waiting for Windows support to materialise. If you're a Windows user, and want this support in 1.1, either code it or pay someone to code it. If the patches are up to snuff, nobody's interested in saying "no" for its own sake. I think Chris's aproach, of putting everything everyone knows about this into a win32 directory, seems to be a pretty good compromise. But if someone turns up with good, solid, doesn't-break-stuff patches tomorrow, I'm all for it.
