We haven't talked about when then the 1.2.23 release would be mostly 
because there hasn't been a lot of demand for one.

If it is the same issue as #148 then it should be tracked as bug #148 
not a new one.  There is a comment on that thread saying the patch 
wouldn't work for 1.2 because the logic is in C code.   I am finding it 
harder to justify time spent doing specific changes 1.2.x.   If you (or 
someone else) comes up with (and tests) a patch to 1.2 for this we can 
talk about applying it and then doing a 1.2.23 release.
