I do the same, except I use a  prerotate and postrotate to stop and start the slons before and after the rotate.  Maybe it's overkill but as well as making sure the rotate would not interfere I thought it was killing 2 birds with one stone in the case slony died and needed a restart. I recall sitting and thinking "is this really a good idea or is it going to bite me one day". 

So far it's been fine.
