The only way I can interpret Yoel's post is that he intends to ignore whatever exists on startup and reinitialize a fresh replica from scatch. I don't think this is a good strategy, especially when the restart might just be a hickup after losing the origin for good. Yoel, please explain in detail what exactly you plan to do.
