I've been doing some playing with adjusting GUC values during subscription et 
all, During this i have discoverd that the parameters you need for Slony-I 
can be quite different than those that you would use in standard DB tuning..  
So having said that I'm wondering if it makes sence to add an option to 
slon.conf that would allow for arbratry  SQL to be sent to the PG backend, 
when slon establishes a connection?  Things like 'SET log_statement true; 
NOTIFY slon_daemon_start;'  or other tuning options.

Thoughts/comments on this ?
