Hi, I was attempting to try out slony I by following the slony1-basic-mstr-slv.txt instructions. After copying the the script to create the initial configuration for the simple master-slave setup of the pgbench database it gives error in running [postgres at infocom03 postgres]$ ./slon.sh <stdin>:5: ERROR: syntax error at or near ; [postgres at infocom03 postgres]$ the EOF at the end of script also needs to be _EOF_ i think. even after changing that the error remains. since i have not been able to setup the slony i have following questions. I am looking for setting up a slave database to my production one without much maintainence overhead. by that i mean whatever i do to my master gets replicated to the slave (asynchronously) these includes table drops , addition of tables and altering of existing table schemas. Is such a thing possible with slony1 or any other (asynchronous) postgresql replication system currently? Also can anyone point me to the instructions for settingup slony1 on databases having large number of tables wherein the dba does not know which ones have pkeys and which one does not have. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Regds Mallah. ----------------------------------------- Over 1,00,000 exporters are waiting for your order!
