I have a client who wants to add additional indexes on
the read-only replica.

Off hand, I don't see a problem with this.  They want
faster access from those servers.  Is there any reason
why this would not work or is a stupid idea?

Also, if anyone can give me a heads up regarding replicating
volitile tables where large numbers are added and deleted
often enough to screw up the planner.  Would this increase
their need for constant vacuuming or something of that nature?
