I think the idea behind this was that if no events are being generated
something IS wrong.

A node should always have a slon running on it and the slon should be
generating sync events even if there is nothing to sync.   Unfortunately this
is not happening in some versions of slony for leaf nodes(See bug #127) 

If your slon is killed (or maybe all of your slons are killed) no events will
be generated but you still want sl_status to show something is wrong.
